Dataset description

The dataset contains material to supplement the paper “PEEK-OPTIMA (Trademark) as an Alternative to Cobalt Chrome in the Femoral Component of Total Knee Replacement: A Preliminary Study” including: wear rates of UHMWPE tibial components articulating against PEEK-OPTIMA (Trademark) and cobalt chrome femoral components under two kinematic conditions, surface roughness analysis of PEEK-OPTIMA® and cobalt chrome femoral components following wear simulation using a contacting Form Talysurf and measurements of the bulk lubricant temperature using a thermocouple.
