Mean bulk lubricant temperature (°C) of a cobalt chrome-on-UHMWPE knee implant and a PEEK-OPTIMA™-on-UHMWPE knee implant (n=3)during wear simulation under both Leeds intermediate and Leeds high kinematics.  The simulator was run under room temperature conditions and the temperature of the bulk lubricant was assessed daily using a calibrated thermocouple close to the articulating surfaces.
