Dataset description

This is the second of the datasets collected as part of a research project called Inclusive Public Space: Law, Universality and Difference in the Accessibility of Streets (Inclusive Public Space or IPS project).

This was a European Research Council Advanced Grant Project which ran from 2019 to 2025. It aimed to deepen understanding of what disabled, older and other pedestrians experienced as inaccessible or exclusionary; to deepen understanding of the nature and effectiveness of law’s engagement with this type of inaccessibility and exclusion; and to raise awareness of relevant types of problem and the importance of heightened legal and political action.

This dataset concerns the insights of three broad and overlapping categories of national stakeholder in each of the five countries – lawyers, campaigners or activists, and policymakers or planners.
