Energy cost of ambulation in trans-tibial amputees using a dynamic-response foot with hydraulic versus rigid ‘ankle’: insights from body centre of mass dynamics

Askew, Graham (2019) Energy cost of ambulation in trans-tibial amputees using a dynamic-response foot with hydraulic versus rigid ‘ankle’: insights from body centre of mass dynamics. University of Leeds. [Dataset] https://doi.org/10.5518/272

Dataset description

These data relate to an investigation into the metabolic energy expenditure and gait signature of unilateral trans-tibial amputees (UTA) wearing a dynamic-response foot (DRF) with either a fixed or hydraulic 'ankle'. Findings suggest that use of a DRF with a small passive hydraulic ankle will provide clinically meaningful benefits in metabolic energy expenditure and kinematics to UTAs' everyday locomotion.
