Dataset description

These data relate to an investigation into the contractile porperties of the mantle muscle of juvenile and adult cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis). It is demonstrated that a slowing of muscle contraction kinetics during development underlies the shift in optimal frequency for maximal power output during jet propulsion swimming.
