Dataset description

This dataset contains the base datasets and mapping process used to undertake the 1971-2030 China exergy analysis for the Applied Energy journal article at this link: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.apenergy.2015.05.082. The datasets sets out the mapping (from primary energy to useful work categories), the task-level exergy efficiencies (i.e. the second law thermodynamic efficiencies that convert from primary exergy to useful work), and the detailed results (i.e. task-level values of useful work) for the 1971-2010 data period.

Additional information: We gratefully acknowledge the support of Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Arup for contributing to the PhD CASE (Collaborative Award in Science and Engineering) scholarship of the first author. The support of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) is also gratefully acknowledged. The work contributes to the programme of the ESRC Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy.
