Data for method for tuneable homeotropic anchoring at micro-structures in liquid crystal devices Read Me File Included: Excel spreadsheet ["Data - Surface treatment of PP2 using C8 silane vapour"] detailing data included in "Method for tuneable homeotropic anchoring at microstructures in liquid crystal devices" Jones et al. 2018 Langmuir. ["Data - Surface treatment of PP2 using C8 silane vapour"] Spreadsheet comprises 5 tabs Fig4: A table split in two giving data on the threshold latching impulses for two ratios of homeotropically anchoring photopolymers. Two columns give experimental data of pulse amplitude and duration, two others give fitting values. This is repeated for both ratios. Fig5: Two tables labelled (a) and (b). The first gives anchoring strength values vs photopolymer concentration, including symmetric error values and fitted values. The second gives anchoring strength values as a function of exposure time to C8 silane in seconds, again including symmetric errors and fitted values. Fig8: Four tables labelled (a), (b), (c), and (d). The first gives an example XPS survey, taken on a C8 sample exposed for 9 minutes (540 seconds), with binding energy (eV) and CPS. The second gives data for the silicon 2p detail scan, including CPS vs BE, fitting for two 2p species, and the envelope for the combined fit. The third shows total Si counts vs silane exposure time and fitting values. The fourth compares the Si counts fitting to the anchoring fit from fig5 using two Y axes. Fig9: Data of AFM roughness vs C8 exposure time. Columns of average roughness, symmetric error, and fitted values. Fig10: Two tables labelled (a) and (b). The first gives slip length vs photopolymer concentration, including symmetric error values and 3 linear fits showing upper and lower fit errors. The second gives slip length vs C8 exposure time, including errors and the 3 linear fits as in (a).
