This data set relates to the paper 'An experimental and theoretical investigation of the extent of bypass air within data centres employing aisle containment, and its impact on power consumption', by Morgan Tatchell-Evans, Nik Kapur, Jonathan Summers, Harvey Thompson and Dan Oldham.  

There are 3 data files in the dataset.

'CPU Utilisation.xlsx' describes how the power consumptions attributed to servers in the system model described in the paper were derived (this relates to Figure 9 in the paper).

'Measured bypass data.xlsx' contains the raw air speed data used to determine the levels of bypass reported in the paper.  The method for converting this data into bypass flow rates is also described (this relates to Figure 10 in the paper).  The calculations undertaken to determine the variability in the results through the analysis of repeat measurements are also described (discussed in section 4.1 of the paper).  This file is embargoed until 01/04/2019.

'Server system curves data.xlsx' collects experimental data on flow rates through servers under different pressure conditions.
