PROJECT AND FUNDING INFORMATION ---------------------------------- Title: Soft Matter for Formulation and Industrial Innovation Dates: 2023 Oct 1 - 2028 Sep 30 Funding organisation: : EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Soft Matter for Formulation and Industrial Innovation (SOFI2) Grant no.: 2887677 4. CONTENTS ----------- ESI.docx: the life cycle assessment (LCA) data of all-cellulose composites (ACCs) produced using the same laboratory scaled fabrication method but different solvent formulations. YM-ANOVA 1.xlsx: the Young's modulus values of the ACCs made using the same laboratory scaled fabrication method but different solvent formulations and their corresponding one-way ANOVA. 5. METHODS ---------- A one-way ANOVA was performed on the raw data of Young's modulus values obtained from the all-cellulose composite specimens for each solvent formulation in Excel. The raw Young's modulus data of the specimens and the one-way ANOVA results are provided in YM-ANOVA 1.xlsx. The cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment (LCA) of the all-cellulose composites (ACCs) produced using the same fabrication process but different solvent formulations was conducted following the ISO 14040: 2006 framework. The information regarding the life cycle inventories (LCIs) was obtained based on the wet lab experiments, published literature materials, mass and energy balances, and industrial information given by proionic GmbH. The life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) of the ACCs produced using different solvent formulations were performed using the ReCiPe 2016 Hierarchist (H) methods with the SimaPro v10.3.0.1 LCA software. The scores used in the interpretation of multiple decision-making criteria of the ACC solvent scenarios were normalised using the maximum normalisation method. All the information can be found in ESI.docx.
