This dataset comprises a set of short documentary films which highlight exclusionary experiences of our ‘pedestrian participants’. These were disabled people, older people and others (eg parents caring for young children) who felt that, as pedestrians, they encountered accessibility barriers in the streets of two cities in each of the five project countries – in India, Delhi and Pune; in Kenya, Nairobi and Mombasa; in the Netherlands, Almere and Utrecht; in the United Kingdom, Glasgow and Leeds; and, in the United States, Syracuse and Atlanta (although no footage was taken in Syracuse). The pedestrian participants we interviewed were asked to identify particular streets they found difficult to use, so we could take footage of them. Participants were also asked if they wished to be included in the film footage interacting with the street environment in question and, if so, whether they would like to have their identity blurred or not.
