Dataset description

Verbatim transcripts of semi-structured interviews undertaken by a sociologist and with members of amateur sporting communities in the north of England. Interviews were conducted between 2019 and 2021. Interviews begin with general questions about the team and sport in question before moving onto more specific enquiries into concussion and injury. In total, there are 29 interviews with professional wrestlers (lasting between 22 and 104 minutes); 27 interviews with American footballers (lasting between 29 and 102 minutes) and 6 interviews with individuals associated with youth soccer (5 parents; 1 coach, duration: 17 to 44 minutes).
