Dataset description

This dataset relates to the investigation of the primary fixation, measured by the axial push-out force, for KeriMedical TOUCH spherical and conical thumb carpometacarpal joint replacement cups. Mechanical tests were conducted in synthetic bone (25-pcf) to assess the effects of cup geometry, size, and suspension on mechanical fixation. The dataset includes results from four implantation conditions:

(1) Control - 9 mm cup, fully seated into the bone

(2) Fully suspended - 9 mm cup, suspended 1 mm above the artificial bone

(3) Partially suspended - 9 mm cup, seated into an angled bony face with a maximum 1 mm exposure of the cup on one side and full seating on the opposing side

(4) Upsized - 10 mm cup, fully seated
