1. ABOUT THE DATASET -------------------- Title: Soil, infiltration and above-ground biomass data for agroforestry at Shillingford, UK, 2023 Creator(s): Josiah B. Judson[1], Pippa J. Chapman[1], Joseph Holden[1], Marcelo V. Galdos[2] Organisation(s): 1. University of Leeds, 2. Rothamsted Research Rights-holder(s):Unless otherwise stated, Copyright 2025 University of Leeds Publication Year: 2025 Description: Soil, above ground biomass and infiltration data collected from agroforestry fields and an adjacent, treeless control field at Shillingford, Devon in May 2023. Agroforestry tree rows were planted at 12m (2002) and 24m (2012) spacing. Sampling was undertaken in four locations relative to tree rows – in line with tree rows at center of row and 1m from nearest tree, perpendicular to tree rows and 1m from nearest tree (0.5m from alley edge in tree row), perpendicular to tree rows and 2m from nearest treee (0.5m from alley edge in alley) and in centre of alley. Soil was sampled at three intervals between 0 and 50cm depth. Tree height and DBH data were measured on five trees each selected at random from two tree rows in each agroforestry field. Infiltration data was collected at the same sample locations as soil data. Cite as: Judson, J. B., Chapman, P. J., Holden, J., Galdos, M. V.
