1. ABOUT THE DATASET -------------------- Title: STEP files for use with StrEmbed software prototype Creator(s): Hugh Patrick Rice [1], Hau Hing Chau [1] Organisation(s): [1] University of Leeds, School of Mechanical Engineering Rights-holder(s): Hugh Patrick Rice, Hau Hing Chau Publication Year: 2022 Description: Three sets of STEP files are presented for use with the StrEmbed software prototype for investigation of design configuration spaces. STEP files are a standard data exchange format for the representation of engineering design bills of materials (BoMs). BoMs for two test cases - a five-piece puzzle and a torch - and one case study - a railway carriage - are presented. Three STEP files for each are provided. All can be loaded into the StrEmbed software, which is available at Github here: https://github.com/paddy-r/StrEmbed-6-1. The STEP files were created at the University of Leeds by Hau Hing Chau. CONTENTS ----------- File listing (nine) All files are in the STEP ('Standard for the Exchange of Product model data') data exchange format suitable for use with all common commercial CAD packages and StrEmbed, the software prototype developed at the University of Leeds. Details of the STEP format are here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_10303-21.
