To access the files for Spectroscopy data (.opj) use the software Origin Pro. 
To access .xlsx use Microsoft Office 2007 or higher. 
To access .bmp, files use any standard photo viewer. 
 
Spectroscopy data is provided as used for analysis with dilution correction applied to absorption and emission spectra, excitation spectra is normalised to 1.0 at (B)Chl a peak.

Excel spreadsheets are provided to show numerical analysis of spectral and microscopy data, headings and sample names are as described in ESI.
